Taking Over The Airwaves
This past week Soccer Source owner George Carr was featured in the radio show Insure Your Success on KLBB Radio based in Stillwater, MN.
Show host Tom Fierst (of Thomas Fierst Insurance Agency), and his sidekick Jerry, spoke to George about the principle of repetition as it relates to achieving your goals. George spoke about the risk of starting a new business, the value of people, and how important of the principles of customer service are to him.
Burning The Midnight Oil
When asked what gets him out of bed in the morning and keeps him up late at night, George said; "The focus with soccersource.com is furthering the game here in the States. On a micro level I want people to have a place they can go to get whatever they need to play, coach, or administer the game, offer them competitive prices, with absolutely outstanding service. Anything else to me is unacceptable."
New Goal Size Requirements
Asked about the recently announced USSF small sided standards changes, Carr replied; "US Soccer, which is the governing body of soccer in the United States, this fall announced a bunch of different changes to the youth game in the States to help develop and pull the youth game in the United States in line with the way that it's played around the world. One of the things they had updated was the size of goals for some of the youngest age groups. What is starting to happen now is that clubs around the country and schools are having to change their goals."
